Sheriff's Office Divisions

It takes organization, skill and teamwork to successfully provide law enforcement. The Sheriff's Office is made up of three divisions and numerous specialized teams commanded by dedicated and highly-skilled personnel with years of experience in law enforcement.

Patrol Division

Captain Brian Goggin leads the Uniform Patrol Division. The Patrol Division consists of 20 deputies. Units within the patrol division include uniform patrol, K9, traffic enforcement, highway interdiction, school resource officers, warrant service and court services.

The men and women of the Uniform Patrol Division perform the most visible and recognizable function of the Sheriff’s Office. They are the ones who respond to your calls for service. You will find them in your neighborhoods behind the wheel of a patrol car, looking for a lost child, comforting the victim of a crime, or questioning someone who doesn’t appear to belong in your neighborhood. Deputies assigned to Uniform Patrol Division are, quite often, the agency’s first line of defense in the county’s No. 1 law enforcement agency.

Detention Division

The deputies assigned to this division are responsible for the safety and security of inmates. The Detention Center holds an average of 102 inmates each day and processes approximately 2,000 inmates per year.

Criminal Investigations

Captain John Edwards leads the Criminal Investigations Division. This division consists of three Criminal Investigators and a secretary.

The primary duties of the Criminal Investigation Division are to conduct thorough follow-up investigations of crimes that occur within the primary  jurisdiction of Peach County. In addition, they initiate new investigations based on intelligence provided by deputies in the field and provide investigative assistance to other law enforcement agencies.
